Custom Splint/Orthotic Fabrication

Custom splints/orthotics are made out of different types of thermoplastic material that are heated and softened in hot water. Once softened, the material is molded directly on you making it a completely custom fit. No two splints are exactly the same!

The majority of custom splints are created by a pattern drawn by Tara. Using a pattern eliminates guesswork and ultimately streamlines the splint fabrication process. Pre-cut materials are never used. Your custom splint is fabricated at the time of your visit and will be ready for you to take home at the end of the appointment. Instructions on use of and care for the splint are taught in detail during your splint appointment.

    • Fracture protection in both surgically and non-surgically managed cases

    • All benefits, regardless of insurance carrier, will be run by a professional medical biller and presented and explained to you prior to your appointment.

    • Most insurance companies will cover the cost of a splint as part of your durable medical equipment coverage.

Splint Patterns

The majority of the splints above begin with a hand-drawn pattern. Beginning the splint fabrication process with a pattern eliminates guesswork and ensures a proper, custom fit.
